Beggar jailed for ignoring injunction
A woman has been sent to prison for the second time for ignoring a court order forbidding her to beg in Nottingham.

Della O'Halloran, 22, has been jailed for two and a half months.

In May this year, O'Halloran was sentenced for 28 days for defying the injunction which was granted to Nottingham City Council in January.

She was banned from begging in Nottingham.

Injunction extended

But three days after her release from jail, O'Halloran was arrested for begging.

At Nottingham County Court, she admitted breaching the injunction 40 times.

Judge David Brunning said the defendant had a major heroin and cocaine habit but she had spurned help.

He also extended the injunction against her to December 2004.
