The council wants to clean up the city centre |
More than 2m is to be spent tackling street crime and anti-social behaviour in Nottingham. An extra 40 street wardens are being employed to deal with drug abuse, prostitution and begging.
The city council has also pledged to name and shame those convicted by using newspaper advertisements.
Councillor Sue Palmer said it was important to deal with offenders.
She said: "The level of begging is appalling.
"The kerb crawling that takes place makes it difficult for people to go about with their daily business."
