The men were arrested outside a superstore in Nottingham
Four men have been arrested on suspicion of entering the UK illegally after being found underneath an articulated lorry in Nottingham.

Police discovered the men at a superstore off Meadow Lane after the driver heard knocking coming from the lorry.

The German haulage company that owns the lorry contacted police on Friday morning after the driver told them about the noise.

The driver has given a statement to the police.

Sniffer dogs

The men, who are in their late 20s and early 30s, will be interviewed by the immigration service later.

An eyewitness told BBC News: "He heard a lot of banging coming from the bottom of the articulated lorry.

"When the police arrived their sniffer dogs ran out and began sniffing the lorry," Alex Johnson said.

"When the lorry was opened, these four blokes ran out from underneath it.

The nationalities of the men have not yet been confirmed.
