Homes evacuated in warehouse fire

A fire has engulfed a disused knife factory in Northamptonshire.

A Northamptonshire Fire Service spokesman said there were nine engines at scene of the blaze in Shirley Road, Rushden.

He added the area, which includes a residential development, had been evacuated. The extent of the evacuation is not known.

The cause of the fire was not yet known but firefighters were expected to remain at the scene overnight.
