Woodland visitor centre planned
A woodland lodge is to be turned into a visitor centre for a riverside regional park at a cost of 1m.

The Forestry Commission-owned Top Lodge, in Fineshade Woods between Corby and Peterborough, is to become a focal point in the River Nene Regional Park.

Frank Inglis, sustainable communities' development manager, said the new centre would improve leisure facilities for the north of the county.

He said it was important because of the thousands of new homes being built.

"It has been recognised that more green infrastructure is needed close to the new housing developments around Corby, Wellingborough and Kettering," he said.

"This new facility will help us to build new tree top trails for the public to enjoy in the Nene Region Park area and it represents a good use of public money."
