A total of 30 crimes were recorded at Silverstone during the British Grand Prix weekend. The behaviour of the 200,000 plus spectators at the three-day race programme at the Northamptonshire circuit has been praised by police.
The majority of crimes reported were thefts from tents and stalls, with mobile phones and wallets also stolen.
Security and policing were stepped up at Silverstone in light of the failed terror attacks in London and Glasgow.
Det Insp Lloyd Tobin, of Northamptonshire Police, said: "Members of the public played their part in this respect by being patient and supportive, and their assistance was hugely appreciated.
"If you consider there were 100,000 people watching the race on Sunday, and a high number of visitors on the other days, the level of crime was extremely low."
