Winter vomiting bug closes wards
Two wards at Northampton General Hospital have had to close because of an outbreak of the infectious winter vomiting virus.

The Brampton and Benham wards are neither transferring people or taking in any more patients, a hospital spokesman said.

The virus, which also causes diarrhoea, usually lasts for 24 to 48 hours and can be spread via hands and clothing.

Kettering General Hospital is unaffected by the bug.
