Women held after burglary spate
Two women have been arrested and charged after a number of burglaries in Northampton on Saturday.

In one incident police were called to Ivy Road after an elderly couple answered their door to a woman who claimed she had lost a ball.

When they opened the door a woman tried to force it open but the couple managed to push it shut, it is alleged.

The two aged 22 and 28 are charged with four burglaries, using violence to secure entry and failing to surrender.

All the alleged incidents happened in the Abington area of Northampton on Saturday afternoon.

The women are due to appear before Northampton magistrates on Monday.
