New dairy depot brings 175 jobs
Robert Wiseman
The depot should be up and running by 2005
A dairy firm is to create 175 jobs at a new 7.5m depot at Northampton to serve the south east of England.

Glasgow-based Robert Wiseman Dairies announced the development as it forecast half-year results in line with expectations.

Wiseman said in May it was negotiating the acquisition of a depot to serve the south east region but failed to say where it was going to be.

Now they have announced the unit will be operational in the town by 2005.

The company runs around 13 distribution depots in the UK and five dairies, including sites at Aberdeen and Birmingham.

It has also said it is continuing to review further sites for potential depots.
