Americans see anti-crime measures
An American FBI agent and a security manager from a leading US shop chain are to see a Northampton retail crime initiative in action this week.

Agent Paul McCabe is in Northampton with Jim Bender from the Target Corporation, which has 1,000 US shops.

The visitors are from Minneapolis, Minnesota, which has one of America's largest shopping malls.

They will see how the partnership between police, council, businesses and licensed premises works.

They will also study information on how anti-social behaviour orders operate within the scheme.

The Northampton Retail Crime Initiative has more than 150 members and is developing fast in the county's other major towns.

The visit by the Americans came about after a Northamptonshire police officer reported on the success of the scheme at a national conference.
