Charity consults public over base
Residents in part of North Yorkshire are being invited to voice their opinions on plans for another base for the Yorkshire Air Ambulance service.

The charity that runs the life-saving helicopter wants to create an additional site on land north of Eden Camp, off the A169 near Malton.

It said having a base in Malton would help in the summer when the number of incidents in the area almost doubles.

An open evening will be held at the War Memorial Hall on Tuesday evening.

Chief executive Martin Eede said they wanted to gauge local people's reactions to their plans for a landing pad, offices and fuel storage tanks.

"We will only press ahead with the plans if we have their support," he said.
