The network has been designed in the shape of a clover leaf

The �400,000 scheme will see 50km (33.3 miles) of purpose-built routes through Dalby forest.

Existing trails, which have been in place since 1997, have become difficult to maintain and inaccessible in bad weather conditions.

The Forestry Commission says the work, which starts in July, will not affect any sensitive conservation areas.

Alan Eves, forest district manager, said natural materials will be used to construct and protect the trails.

He added: "The creation of an all weather and sustainable network is a central part of our vision for Dalby and will mean a boost to the economy.

"It is one of the most significant developments in Dalby in recent years."
