As jockeys go he's a bit on the large side, but measuring a whopping 46m high by 17m wide the new addition to North Yorkshire's White Horse has a big job. Yorkshire Tourist Board has etched the 150ft tall jockey, known as "Yorkshire Jim", on the horse to mark the move of the Royal Ascot race meet to York.
Jim is saddled up on the horse on the hillside at Kilburn, near Sutton Bank.
Up to 250,000 visitors are expected to visit the Ascot race meeting over five days in June.
Amanda Smyth of the Yorkshire tourist Board said: "The White Horse at Kilburn is one of Yorkshire's most famous landmarks and we felt it was the perfect picture to welcome Royal Ascot to York.
"The image of a jockey surrounded by some of Yorkshire's stunning countryside encapsulates the importance of Royal Ascot at York to the region's tourism industry."
The meeting at York's Knavesmire starts on Tuesday, 14 June.
