Shorter waiting times are promised for urology patients in parts of North Yorkshire.

York Healh Services Trust is to receive extra funding from an NHS project called Action on Urology.

Among the aims are to improve assessment services for prostate cancer.

Managers also aim to deliver shorter waiting times for both inpatient and outpatient appointments.

More community and home-base urology services will also be available.

The York trust will receive around an extra 100,000 to be spent over the next 18 months.
