Burglars strike at football club

The club's empty offices were ransacked by burglars

Thieves have broken in to and ransacked the offices of a Norfolk football club that has gone into liquidation.

The offices of King's Lynn FC at the Walks have been empty and locked up since the club went out of business following a High Court hearing.

Burglars targeted the Football in the Community room and stole computers, said police who are investigating.

Jess Ibro, from the charity, said it was no surprise as there was no security and they were only part time.

Charity computers stolen

"They left a pretty big mess and we knew straight away there had been a break-in as tables had been turned over and drawers emptied with paperwork all over the floor.

"Two computers holding a lot of our information on Football in the Community were gone.

"We've been broken into three times in the last two years and Christmas is a prime time.

"The way the club is at present there is no policing and we're the only ones using the building so it really comes as no surprise that something like this was going to happen."

Football in the Community is backed by Norwich City FC and helps 50,000 children in Norfolk and north Suffolk every year.

The charity puts on coaching courses for youngsters and helps many schools, community groups and voluntary organisations.
