Lead is stolen from church roof
Police are appealing to any scrap metal dealers who have been offered a large quantity of lead after the theft of lead from a church roof.

Thieves used a stolen Land Rover to target St Mary's Church in Redenhall, Harleston, Norfolk, sometime on Monday night or Tuesday morning.

The stolen metal has been valued as scrap at 2,000 but it is estimated that it will cost 10,000 to replace.

The blue Land Rover Defender was stolen from Earsham, near Bungay, said police.

Police were alerted to the theft at 1015 GMT. The stolen vehicle was found burnt out in Suffolk on Tuesday afternoon.

Police are appealing for any scrap dealers who have been offered a large quantity of lead throughout the day to contact them.

Any witnesses to the theft or with any further information is asked to contact Norfolk Police.
