Service for troops' safe return
The Light Dragoons
Medals were earlier presented to 123 soldiers
A village primary school has held a special service to mark the safe return of troops from Afghanistan.

Half of the 190 children at Swanton Morley primary school in Norfolk have parents in the Light Dragoons.

The soldiers from Robertson barracks joined the children in a service of thanksgiving for the safe return of all the troops.

Last month, the soldiers were presented with their campaign medals after the six-month tour of duty in Afghanistan.

The soldiers were deployed to Helmand Province where they were involved in fighting with the Taleban.

Gareth Flemington, Swanton Morley primary head teacher, said: "There hasn't been a day gone by in the past year or so when somebody hasn't been thinking about their dad away or the teachers thinking about the kids.

"They are a big part of our lives."
