Oil seed rape field
Global Commodities make bio-diesel from crops like oil seed rape
A biofuel manufacturing firm has been charged with pollution offences after suspect waste ran into a stream.

Global Commodities, based in Shipdham near Watton, Norfolk, is accused of allowing waste to enter a watercourse.

The Environment Agency is also bringing a string of charges relating to its operation. Global produces a range of "green" fuels at its Old Foundry site.

Next Monday company representatives will go before Thetford magistrates to answer 10 different charges.

The firm is also accused of illegally disposing of waste matter and failing to train its staff properly.

It is alleged the company's employees were not aware of pollution prevention procedures.

The company declined to comment before the court case.
