Two projects in the East of England which aim to develop new ways of tackling homelessness have been awarded government funding. Norfolk's Nightstop Plus project will receive �50,000 to find short-term accommodation for young people in the homes of volunteers.
In Brentwood, Essex, �20,000 will pay for a specialist Citizens Advice Bureau debt advisor for homeless people.
More than �2m is being awarded to 19 projects across England.
The Homelessness Innovation Fund (HIF) is part of the government's strategy to cut the number of households in temporary accommodation by 50% by 2010.
