New funds to reduce homelessness
Two projects in the East of England which aim to develop new ways of tackling homelessness have been awarded government funding.

Norfolk's Nightstop Plus project will receive 50,000 to find short-term accommodation for young people in the homes of volunteers.

In Brentwood, Essex, 20,000 will pay for a specialist Citizens Advice Bureau debt advisor for homeless people.

More than 2m is being awarded to 19 projects across England.

The Homelessness Innovation Fund (HIF) is part of the government's strategy to cut the number of households in temporary accommodation by 50% by 2010.
