Babyshambles frontman Doherty is being held by Shropshire Police |
The rock group Babyshambles has cancelled a gig in Norwich on Sunday night after the arrest of lead singer Pete Doherty. It is understood Doherty was arrested on suspicion of the possession of class A drugs in Shrewsbury, Shropshire.
Doherty's band Babyshambles had been due to play at a sell-out gig at the University of East Anglia (UEA).
A spokesman said the gig would either be rescheduled or the 1,500 ticket-holders refunded.
A West Mercia Police spokesman said two people arrested were expected to be interviewed on Sunday afternoon.
Doherty is the boyfriend of the supermodel Kate Moss.
