New routes from Norwich airport
Flybe
There will be new daily routes from Norwich next year
Cheap flights to more destinations from Norwich International Airport were announced on Tuesday.

Europe's third biggest budget airline, Flybe, is laying on routes, daily, from next year, linking Norfolk to Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow and Jersey.

The airline will provide thousands of seats throughout 2005, and says it will be ruthless in its pricing to beat off the competition.

Mike Rutter, sales director of Flybe, says more destinations are planned.

"Norwich is going to become a major low cost base for us" he told the BBC.

"We think the east of England has a massive pent-up demand for low cost services and we wanted to tap in to that."

Mr Rutter said six further services which would come into operation in the 2005 winter season. They were Exeter, Aberdeen, Paris, Chambrey, Dublin, Geneva and possibly Amsterdam.
