Ex-boxing champ fined over knife

Herbie Hide has twice been WBO boxing champion
The former world heavyweight boxing champion Herbie Hide has been fined nearly �1,000 for carrying a kitchen knife in public.

The 32-year-old, from Bawburgh, near Norwich, Norfolk, appeared before magistrates in the city on Monday.

The twice World Boxing Organisation (WBO) champion pleaded guilty to the possession of a bladed article and was fined �750 with �130 costs.

He was stopped by police on the Riverside in Norwich on 14 December and later charged with carrying a knife.
