The airport is being sold for �10m

A meeting of Norwich City Council, which owns 40% share of the airport, is expected to agree to the sale.

Norfolk County Council - which owns 60% of the airport - has already agreed to sell a majority share to the company Omniport.

In October city councillors blocked the sale.

They voted to support the deal in principle but wanted to reconsider selling 180 acres of undeveloped land alongside the airport.

Liberal Democrat councillors wanted a new agreement which would involve leasing the land to Omniport.

Councillors believed the land, near the proposed northern distributor road, could be a future money-earner.

The sale of the airport could now be settled by Christmas.
