A gas company has delayed its decision on building a pipeline between the Netherlands and the UK. The planned 230 km gas pipeline will run from Balgzand on the north western part of the Dutch coast to Bacton in Norfolk.
On Wednesday, Dutch firm Nederlandse Gasunie said its Gastransport Services division will not now decide on the construction of a new pipeline to the UK until December.
A spokesman said this was due to delays in talks with regulators and potential customers.
Previously the company hoped to make a decision by the end of next month.
Gasunie is 50% owned by the Dutch government with the remaining 50% split equally between Royal Dutch/Shell Group and ExxonMobil Corp.
