RAF crews were scrambled from Wattisham Airfield
Two divers have been rescued off the coast of Norfolk.

Caister lifeboat and an RAF rescue helicopter from Wattisham Airfield, Suffolk, were called out to the incident east of Happisburgh.

They were called after Yarmouth Coastguard received a radio message at about 1500 BST on Saturday that the boat which had been used by the two divers had lost power.

The boat the Cockney Rebel, skippered by a man from Thetford, was drifting and was unable to retrieve the two surface divers.

The helicopter picked up the two divers and transferred them to the Caister lifeboat unharmed.

The Cockney Rebel was then escorted back to port.

Colin White, watch manager of Yarmouth Coastguard, said: "We are very pleased that the skipper of the dive boat contacted us as soon as the problem occurred."
