Exhibition of prayers for future

Liverpool Cathedral
A selection of the prayers will be on display at the cathedral

A collection of prayers from and for the people of Liverpool is to go on show at the city's Anglican cathedral.

Sportspeople, celebrities and politicians are among those sharing their hopes for the future in the form of prayers

Prayer for Liverpool has been organised by the city's Anglican Cathedral to reflect on the success of the city's Capital of Culture year.

The prayer exhibition can be seen until 7 January.

Among those who have contributed are Merseyside-born culture secretary Andy Burnham, comedian Les Dennis and Olympic gymnast Beth Tweddle.

A selection of the prayers will also be set to music and performed later next year.
