The Right Reverend James Jones became Bishop of Liverpool in 1998 |
The Anglican Bishop of Liverpool has celebrated 10 years in the post with a special service at the cathedral. The Right Reverend James Jones became Bishop of Liverpool in 1998, having been Bishop of Hull since 1994. In the service, held at 1500 GMT, the Bishop was greeted at the font by children who have been baptised during his time at the cathedral. The service also featured dramatised readings and a testimony by young people about their faith. Bishop James and his wife Sarah Jones were led out to the door by people carrying red, gold, green and blue streamers. He has written several books, regularly appears on BBC Radio 4 and has been involved in regeneration in Liverpool for the past 12 years.
