Three men and a teenager have been arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder in connection with the fatal stabbing of an Army cadet. The men, aged 21, 20 and 18, and a 16-year-old boy are all from the Kirkdale area, Merseyside police said. Joseph Lappin, 16, was stabbed in the heart after being chased by a gang of up to 15 youths in Everton, Liverpool. His 17-year-old friend was also stabbed in the incident which happened near Shrewsbury House Youth Club last week. Joseph, from Old Swan, was with two friends when he was attacked after his first visit to the club on 20 October. Two boys, aged 14 and 15, a 20-year-old man from Vauxhall, a 19-year-old man and a 16-year-old boy, both from Kirkdale, have been questioned on suspicion of murder and attempted murder. Two other teenagers, whose ages were not given and who were arrested close to the murder scene, were released on bail last week.
