Union members at the Liverpool Post and Echo are stepping up their fight to stop owner Trinity Mirror moving printing out of Merseyside. The company is to shift the printing of its North West regional titles to Oldham, with up to 100 job losses. Members of the Unite union are lobbying 18 local MPs at Westminster on Tuesday. Trinity Mirror is investing 7.5m to create the single production site in Oldham and says it has been a difficult decision to move from Liverpool. Unite Regional Officer Paul Finegan said the union had launched a petition and added: "We urge Trinity Mirror at the highest level to reconsider its position and keep the Liverpool Daily Post and Echo printed on Merseyside."
