Liverpool John Lennon Airport
The airport is opening on Christmas Day
Staff at Liverpool John Lennon Airport are gearing up for their busiest Christmas to date.

Passenger numbers are up 12% on last year and the airport is to open on Christmas Day, operating some flights in the afternoon.

Passengers carrying Christmas presents on board are being warned that hand baggage restrictions remain in place.

The airport said to help keep security queues to a minimum, passengers should travel with their presents unwrapped.

Restrictions on carrying liquids through security are also still in place.

Passengers are also advised to put liquids and unwrapped liquid presents such as perfumes, alcohol and toiletries in their hold luggage to check-in.
