Ryanair announces route expansion
Ryanair planes on the runway
The company is expanding its services into Europe
The budget airline Ryanair has announced further expansion at Liverpool John Lennon Airport.

The airline will now fly from Liverpool to Malaga in southern Spain and Nantes in north-west France.

The company has also said that it will open a base in Manchester Airport in the spring.

This comes after rival budget airline Easyjet said it would start flying to six destinations from the city as part of a takeover of GB Airways.

Ryanair will fly to Barcelona Girona, Bremen, Marseille and Milan from Manchester.

The company said there would be 50 new European routes in 2008.
