Boy allowed on plane without pass
Ryanair planes grounded at Stansted by the terror alert
The boy boarded the plane at the height of the alert
A boy managed to get onto an aircraft without a boarding pass because of an "administrative error", airport bosses have said.

He avoided security checks and boarded the Ryanair flight from Liverpool John Lennon Airport to Kerry in Ireland.

It happened last Thursday as security was increased during the national terror alert.

Cabin crew removed the boy, who is thought to have been with his mother, when they realised the error.

A spokeswoman for the airport said the youngster had a valid passport and was never a risk to security.

Department notified

She said: "The investigation by the airline, its handling agent and airport security concluded there was an administrative error in that a passenger listed to travel on a flight boarded without their boarding pass.

"This was identified by the handling agent and cabin crew staff before the flight departed.

"The additional passenger onboard was listed on the passenger manifest, was in possession of a valid passport and was fully screened in accordance with the new increased security measures."

She added: "At no time was there any risk to security nor any other passengers onboard the flight.

"We informed the Department of Transport of this incident and we continue to work in full compliance of the security directives we have received."
