Eight teachers at a school in Merseyside have walked out in a row over performance-related pay. The teachers from Park View Primary in Huyton formed a picket line outside the school on Wednesday.
They say some teachers at the school have been receiving pay awards based on their performance, but 12 members of staff were not properly considered.
The teaching union NASUWT is backing the teachers. It says the school has not followed proper procedures.
Pay increase
John Mayes, from the union, said: "There should be a proper procedure for the teachers to have this money."
A spokesman for the school condemned the walkout, saying five members of staff have now received the pay increase.
Mike Kearns, chairman of the school's governors, said all the avenues have not been explored.
"There is no need for strike action," he said.
"There is still an appeal process they could have used and should have used. That's still open. People can come in."
The teachers say they will strike again if their pay issues are not resolved.
