More than �4m has been awarded to the voluntary sector in Liverpool. City councillors agreed the grants for more than 80 voluntary organisations across the city on Friday.
Twenty-five groups are receiving aid for the first time - 14 others will see their funding increased. Twelve groups were refused further aid.
Another six groups are receiving the full amount they requested, while 20 other organisations will be awarded the same as last year.

Liverpool Council for Voluntary Services (LCVS), which supports others working with vulnerable people, was awarded �200,000.
The panel assessed hundreds of applications from the voluntary sector.
Vice chair of the appeals panel, Councillor Richard Marbrow said: "We are delighted to be funding so many groups which do a huge amount of important work in the city."
LCVS will be involved in providing help and advice to unsuccesful applicants.
As well as the cash boost for voluntary groups, the council also awarded more than �1.8m in grants to culture organisations and another �1.7m in grants to youth organisations.
Vice Chair of the voluntary sector panel, Councillor Flo Clucas, said: "Liverpool is one of the most generous cities in the country when it comes to funding the voluntary sector because we believe it plays a vital role in regenerating our local communities."
