City faiths pray for Ken Bigley

Prayers will be said by people of all faiths
A multi-faith walk which is part of Liverpool's build up to being Capital of Culture is being dedicated to Iraq hostage Kenneth Bigley.

The "Walk of Faith" is part of the "Faith In One City" year.

The walk starts at 2pm at the Anglican Cathedral. The route passes through different faith centres before ending at the Catholic Cathedral at 4pm.

Prayers will be said for Mr Bigley throughout the walk. The Lord Mayor will join the procession.

Cathedral walk

Founder Shiv Pande said this year's walk had to be dedicated to Mr Bigley.

"I think it is something we can't just keep to the vigil at St George's Plateau of the Roman Catholic Cathedral.

"He is very much in our hearts, our minds and our prayers," said Mr Pande, vice-chair of Merseyside Council of Faiths.

As well as the cathedrals, the walk visit a mosque, Bahai centre, Sikh temple and Hindu centre in the city.
