Five thousand motor bikes are set to roar through Wirral on Sunday on the 24th annual Egg Run. The event starts in New Brighton and ends at Clatterbridge Hospital raising money for sick children and delivering their Easter Eggs.
Last year the biking event, which starts 1100 GMT, raised a grand total of 12,000.
Bill Brereton, Secretary of the Egg Run Committee, said they are expecting thousands of people to turn out.
'Ingenious costumes'
"If it is good weather I would hope to see around 5,000 motor cyclists and lots of people who line the route," he said.
"Some people make a great deal of effort and there are some very ingenious costumes, all checked out by the police I am sure - they look good."
A number of roads will be closed and David Watson, Wirral Council's senior road safety officer is urging people to be sensible.
"Everybody - all pedestrians - stay on the pavement, don't try and cross during the gaps.
"It is quite an impressive event to see and provided pedestrains are sensible there is never ever any problem."
