An Everton FC fan was killed by flying debris on his way to a game in Leicester, as high winds swept the country. The man, who is from Liverpool, suffered fatal injuries in Upperton Road at about 1418 GMT on Saturday.
Leicestershire Police said his death seemed to have been an accident.
A Leicester City FC spokesman said: "The club expresses its deepest sympathy to the family of the man at this tragic time."
Police said they were currently trying to track down the dead man's relatives.
A file was also being prepared to submit to the coroner.
