Would-be yachters invited to race
Clipper race crew
Anyone can put their name forward to join Liverpool's crew
The search has begun for the crew which will represent Liverpool in next year's Clipper round-the-world yacht race.

Aspiring thrill-seekers are being invited to a seminar at Liverpool Yacht Club on Wednesday evening where they can find out about the challenge.

Anyone over the age of 18 can apply to represent Liverpool in the race, although there will be a rigorous interview and assessment process

The aim of the Clipper race is to open up yacht-racing to a wider audience.

The event's organisers say the idea behind the Clipper Race is to ensure that anyone is given the chance to experience life aboard an ocean racer.

Crew members must be at least 18 years old, but there is no upper age limit.

The 2005 Clipper race which begins in September, will start and finish on the Mersey.
