Police have charged 20 people with conspiracy to cause violent disorder after a football match. The charges follow an investigation into violence after a Tranmere Rovers versus Wrexham match in September 2003.
Merseyside Police arrested 19 people after a series of dawn raids in Wirral and Cheshire on Wednesday morning.
One person has been charged with public order offences. All are due to appear before Wirral magistrates on Wednesday 11 February.
Police say groups of supporters clashed on a train at Rock Ferry after the match and later on in Chester city centre.
