HMS Liverpool returns home
HMS Liverpool
The ship's company will lead the Remembrance Day procession
HMS Liverpool was due to sail in to her home port on Wednesday to take part in a special Remembrance Day service.

It is exactly a year since the Type-42 destroyer visited the city.

The aim of her six day visit is to reinforce her close links with Liverpool.

Her ship's company will also lead the Remembrance Day commemorations at the cenotaph at St George's Plateau on Sunday, 9 November.

During her stay, she will be berthed at Canada Dock and will be open to visitors on Saturday afternoon.

There will also be a series of careers events on board the vessel during which would-be sailors can get advice and information about joining the Royal Navy.

HMS Liverpool arrived back in the UK in August following seven months away from home during which time she served in the Iraq conflict.

She also made diplomatic visits to Malaysia, Singapore, China, south Korea, Japan and India.
