Mark Daly secretly filmed recruits and officers

He left his job with Cheshire Constabulary after senior officers viewed unbroadcast footage filmed by reporter Mark Daly.

It follows the screening of the Secret Policemen documentary, which revealed racist behaviour among trainee officers at the police training centre in Warrington.

Mr Daly also filmed officers while working as a policeman with Greater Manchester Police for five-and-a-half months.

Cheshire Police said a review had been carried out of the officers' cases and no improper behaviour had been uncovered.

'Subsequently resigned'

In a statement, the force said: "Cheshire Constabulary has now had opportunity to review unbroadcast material recorded by a BBC journalist, Mark Daly.

"As a result of viewing the material, the professional standards department suspended a probationary constable from the Halton division on 21 November.

"He subsequently resigned."

The latest resignation is the second from the Cheshire force since the documentary was screened last month.

Five officers have also resigned from Greater Manchester Police while one officer has left the North Wales force.
