The other body is thought to be that of Pauline Stephen

Hanane Parry, 19, had been working as a prostitute in the Everton area, where the body parts were discovered.

Mark Corner, a 26-year-old from Everton, was arrested on Monday on suspicion of murder.

The bodies - the other believed to be that of Pauline Stephen, a prostitute from Lancashire - were found in St Domingo Vale on Sunday and had been cut up and placed in bin bags.

Ms Parry, originally from the Chester area, had been living in Anfield.

On Tuesday detectives were continuing to question Mr Corner about the women's deaths.

Ms Stephen, a 25-year-old mother of one, comes from Skelmersdale.

Detectives have advised prostitutes not to use the area for the time being.

Chief Superintendent Mike Langdon said: "We will be handing out personal safety advice and personal attack alarms to prostitutes and encouraging the use of safe routes.

"Obviously at the moment it would be preferable for them not to use unsafe routes to ply their trade."

Reported missing

Uniformed officers have been maintaining a high profile in the area, to reassure residents.

The body parts were found more than a week after Ms Stephen was reported missing.

Clothes, believed to belong to Ms Stephen, were also found close to the remains and her car was parked nearby.

Ms Stephen failed to return home on 12 July.

She has a partner and eight-year-old son and grew up in Liverpool.
