Comedian Johnny Vegas has become a father, it has been announced. His wife Kitty Donnelly gave birth to a 6lb 9oz boy at a north London hospital on Thursday.
The couple have named the child Michael Lawrence Pennington.
Michael is Vegas' real name and Lawrence is his father's name.
Vegas, from St Helens, Merseyside, and star of BBC's Shooting Stars and Happiness, said: "I'm very, very proud."
Ms Donnelly, 27, and baby Michael were said to be doing very well.
The comedian married Ms Donnelly last year five months after meeting her in a pub.
He sold the wedding pictures for �1 in an exclusive deal with adult comic Viz.
