Vandals target Rooney home

The Rooney family's car was also targeted last November
The home of Everton star Wayne Rooney has been targeted by vandals with a paintball gun.

Three pellets, filled with green paint, were fired at Rooney's house in the Croxteth area of Liverpool on Wednesday night.

One pellet hit the brickwork and two hit the upper windows, one of which displays Everton pennants. A fourth struck the family car.

Rooney, who has also played for England and earns 14,000-a-week, still lives in the house with his parents and younger brothers.

On Thursday his father, who is also called Wayne, said: "We don't know if people are doing it because they're jealous.

"We are not going to report it to police. There's nothing we can do."

It is believed Rooney is planning to move his family to a luxury home nearby.

In November last year, the tyres of the Rooney family's Ford Galaxy car were deliberately slashed.
