Police have arrested 15 people after bottles were thrown at officers following the Manchester derby match. The majority of them were held on suspicion of public order offences after "sporadic violence", Greater Manchester Police said. The televised game saw Manchester City win 2-1 over Manchester United. Assistant Chief Constable Ian Hopkins, said the "vast majority" of fans at the City of Manchester stadium were well behaved. Seats thrown He said: "There were some issues with Manchester United fans turning up very late before the game which led to a number of people not being inside the ground in time for kick-off. "We also had instances of disorder with coin throwing and seats being thrown between rival fans during the match. "Post-match there was some sporadic violence with bottles being thrown at officers. "My officers dealt with some challenging and potentially dangerous situations very effectively."
