 Palea'aesina was released on bail |
Wigan rugby player Iafeta Palea'aesina has been arrested for assault after allegedly breaking a man's jaw. The New Zealand prop forward, 25, is alleged to have punched a bus driver in the face in the car park of a Wigan railway station on Saturday 6 October.
He voluntarily attended Wigan police station last week to be questioned by officers from British Transport Police.
He was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm and released on bail until 22 November.
A spokesman for Wigan Warriors said: "We are aware of the situation and it is being dealt with by the authorities.
"We cannot make any further comment at this stage."
