Three protesters were injured while picketing over pay and conditions
Three people were injured when a lorry collided with a trailer canopy outside a JJB Sports warehouse where protesters were picketing in Greater Manchester.

Two men standing next to the canopy in Wigan were taken to hospital with cuts and bruises. A woman who suffered grazes declined medical treatment.

The trio were among 100 protesters taking part in a 24-hour strike on Thursday over pay and conditions.

This is the third time in a fortnight that staff have gone on strike.

According to GMB union officials, workers are mounting picket lines throughout the day and will also be demonstrating outside JJB sports shops across England and Scotland on Saturday.

The union also complained that employment agencies illegally supplied staff during last week's strike.

Regional secretary Paul McCarthy said: "These are low-paid workers on the national minimum wage, and the activities of the employment agencies in supplying strike-breaking staff is prolonging the dispute."
