The service is held every year |
Victims of murder and manslaughter are being remembered in a candlelit service at Manchester Cathedral. Relatives of those whose loved ones have been killed will gather for the service, in which the names of the victims will be read out.
The Service for Lives Cut ceremony takes place annually and is organised by Manchester support group Support After Murder and Manslaughter (SAMM).
The organisation was set up in 1997 by bereaved friends and parents.
It aims to make society more aware of the effects of murder and manslaughter.
