New peace talks are under way in a last ditch attempt to settle the long legal battle which has torn apart the family behind the Patak food empire. The row between Kirit Pathak, boss of the �80m Patak curry sauce company, and his two married sisters was due to resume in the High Court on Friday.
But the case will not return to court until Monday as both parties and legal teams are in mediation discussions.
The Leigh-based firm's last peace talks broke down two-and-a-half years ago.
Sisters Chitralekha Mehta and Anila Shastri had expected to receive around �4m each under a settlement of their claim that they had been cheated out of shares allocated to them by their late father and founder of the empire, Laxmishankar Pathak.
But the peace talks, which were subject to agreement by the family's 78-year-old matriarch, Shantagaury Pathak, broke down and the case was adjourned as a "part heard" action with six to eight weeks still to go.
The presiding judge, Mr Justice Evans-Lombe, has been unable to resume the hearing until now because he was assigned to other cases.
