Olympic boxer Amir Khan has appeared in court to deny a charge of dangerous driving in his home town.

Mr Khan, 19, of Lostock in Bolton, Greater Manchester, appeared before Bolton Magistrates' Court.

He denies charges which relate to an incident in Bradshawgate on 2 March, in which a man broke his leg after being hit by a car.

The case was committed for trial at Bolton Crown Court at the hearing on Thursday.

The teenager has won all of his nine fights since turning professional.

He shot to fame after winning a silver medal in the 2004 Olympics.
